A short story in a long sentence.

Writer's picture: MorningstarMorningstar

Granny wouldn't come down the mountain for nothing, not even to die, which is why we all had to go up there and sit with her in her little cabin by the stream; all ten of us in the one big room that served as bedroom, kitchen, and parlor, you name it, everything but the privy, which was outside, and that just left Mae Alice, Joe Jr's wife, fit to be tied because there was NO WAY (in capital letters) that she was going to use an outhouse, but of course she would, she would have to, wouldn't she, because the one thing we all knew for sure was that Granny wasn't going down without a fight, no matter how much she loved Jesus, and we were going to be there around that quilt covered bed for quite some time.
