It's Been a Minute

Things have been crazy. Remember how we thought life would be magically less stressful once 2020 was over? Didn't happen. Here's hoping 2022 will be...nope, not gonna fall for it again

We have moved back to New Hampshire, so there was more packing and unpacking, but we sure are glad to be home! One of the dogs had to have surgery (he's all good now), and other chaos has occurred, natch.

But now it's November, and you know what that means: NANOWRIMO!!!! That taskmaster that forces us to write again. If you're unfamiliar with it, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. It's a program that encourages people to write, and six years ago it's how I finally wrote my first book.

This entirely free event provides writing advice, pep talks from famous authors, word challenges to help you get those words down, and a many other services to help you reach a goal of a minimum of 50,,000 words in one month. There are forums to commiserate with other writers, fun merch for sale, and discounts on writing software.

If you have ever considered writing a novel, I highly recommend NaNoWriMo. If you're nervous to take the plunge, they offer Camp NaNoWriMo every April and July. Unlike the big event in November, you don't have to commit to 50,000 words. You set your own goals and learn how things work along the way.

It's the midway point for this year's NaNoWriMo, and I'm happy with my progress. It's helping me get the third installment of Hornback & LeFevre out of my head and onto the pager. But I better get back to it so I don't fall behind!

Write on!
